What ... me teach science?

Yes, that's the name of the course and after attending it you will feel confident to teach some science!

Course Aims:

To familiarize Teaching Assistants with aspects of Attainment Targets 3 and 4 at Key Stage 2. To provide Teaching Assistants with modular activities linked to the National Curriculum which are ideal for either lesson based or science club activities.

Course Outline:

In an informal hands-on approach, delegates will be encouraged to explore possible learning outcomes of a number of problem solving activities linked to the National Curriculum. The activities will be easily replicated in the classroom, and are designed to be both inspirational and enjoyable for teachers and pupils alike. As an added bonus, all the kits and equipment used are included…make it work and take it home!!

Course Benefits:

Participants will develop an understanding of key scientific principles, and will take away activities to use with pupils in a classroom context. They will have the tools and confidence to lead some science activities in school.

The Tutor

Lynn Marshall graduated from the University of Kent with an honours degree in Education, and went on to teach and lead departments in a variety of schools and colleges. Since 1998 she has been fully committed to developing initiatives with organizations such as SETNET, SETPOINT, EBPs and the Pupil Researcher Initiative. She is also currently a Director of Pied Piper Educational Resources.
